Tuesday Book

Group Description :

TUESDAY BOOK GROUP

This group shares and discusses both fiction and non-fiction books. Every few
months group members have a planning meeting when we collaboratively choose a range of books to include in our ‘book of the month’ programme. The group currently meets on the second Tuesday of each month, starting at 2pm.

Next meeting: 2pm-4pm on Tuesday 9th June 2026

Raising Hare   by   Chloe Dalton.

Raising Hare tells the story of the unusual experience of raising a leveret to adulthood and beyond. Drawing from the extraordinary opportunity of observing a hare at close quarters in a relationship of trust - as it comes and goes freely from the wild - it is an appeal for better understanding, appreciation and protection for hares wherever they are found.
Amongst other awards and accolades, this book was shortlisted for the Women's Prize for Non-Fiction, 2025, and was winner not only of the Wainwright Prize for Nature Writing 2026 but also the Wainwright Prize Book of the Year 2026. It is nature writing at its finest.

Meetings are hosted on a voluntary basis and in rotation by group members. It must be emphasised that hosting is not a condition of group membership, so please don't put off getting in touch because you are unable or not willing to offer a space for the group to meet in.

If you'd like to join us, do get in touch with Book Group Facilitator Catherine Cowie using the ema
